January recap

1 snow day this winter. We've only had 2 significant snowstorms this year, one in OCTOBER! (when we lost power for 4 days) and this other one in January. No snow on the ground right now either. Weird winter!

Rachel's been leaving messages on the fridge lately, I like this one. :)

Made some soup recently, kid approved. I'll share recipe soon.

lots of these.

Typical after church outfit. Rachel keeps on one item she wore to church and mixes it up with lots of prints for the rest of the day.

Emma has had many 'campfires' using her tinkertoys.

I've been going through some boxes of stuff that I haven't opened in probably a good 10 years and found this ring. I've had that thing for at least 20 years and completely forgot about it. Isn't it cute?

I especially like it with my strawberry-red nails. Nice winter pick-me-up!

By the way, I discovered there's no good way to take a picture of your own hand without them looking 'stumpy'. Just sayin'. :)

My poor neglected blog, I think of you often. I have so many pictures to load and need to get caught up. Soon, I promise.

Christmas 2011

Ok, so we couldn't capture Christmas morning no matter how hard we tried. First, our camcorder uses those little tapes which are impossible to find. Instead, Hubs was going to use his business ipad. Unfortunately Christmas morning it was stuck and he couldn't restart it. So, I grabbed my basic canon digital camera which will take some video. No joke, I turn it on, my battery light is flashing. UGH! So Hubs grabbed his camera to take some pics. No video this year. Major letdown. We'll have to plan better next year or somehow get a new video recorder.
I was able to snap these and once I can get my hands on Hubs' photos, I'll post those too.
Santa left Strawberry Shortcake dolls and little outfits and yes their hair still smells fruity. :)

Rachel can get her ears pierced when she's 10, if she wants. She was very excited to get this little set of earrings from her aunt.

Mini pillow pets.

Christmas 2011 Part 2 coming soon!

Smattering of morning freshly fallen snow.
Sleeping in.

Pretzel wreaths for our neighbors.

Pretzel wreaths recipe:
Dip pretzels in melted chocolate.
Place on wax paper in wreath shape, decorate with red and green m&ms. Cool. Transfer to plate.

Merry Christmas everyone!
